May Flowers

Image
Wow! It's been a while since I have blogged. I'm actually not sure if I want to keep doing it but for this post it seems handy. Blogging seems to be a thing of the past I'm affraid. Not many people really bother to click the link and go to the blog anymore. Sad! Especially since we, the bloggers, go through such lengths to take decent pictures - setting everything up just right - and spend quite the time writing the post.  Oh well! We'll see what happens. As I said, this time it's very handy as for this project I'm about to show you, a lot is going on and I want to tell you a little bit about everything :-) I have been away for a while it seems, but it's only been due to me making this project ๐Ÿ˜‰  Ok so with no further ado, here's the May Flower Bouquet: This bouquet consists of 5 different flowers and foliage - all by  Maison Gregoria . But first I want to present the cute  Milk Can  from Simply Crafty SVGs: It's made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla a

Snowtown

Image
Christmas is over and in a few days we get a brand new sparkling and hopefully Covid-19-free New Year. Another thing I wish in the new year is snow. Man! I love snow. Unfortunately we don't get much anymore due to the climate changes. The oceans around Denmark are way too warm and Denmark too small to get cold enough so now it's only rain, rain and more rain. *SIGH* Luckily I have my imagination and I can create my own snow - or Snow Town ๐Ÿ˜Š So I did that yesterday using the fun, adorable and whimsical  Polar Place ,  Chilly Cottage  and  Winter Wheels Car  from Simply Crafty SVGs: These darling are downsized by 50% so I can fit them into my small home and all are made from AC Cardstock and Doodlebug Design patterned paper Frosty Friends. I also used glitter paper in matching colors and white glitter cardstock from Best Creation. Here are some shots of them individually: Winter Wheels Car: Polar Place: Chilly Cottage: I must admit that they are a bit tricky to make this small b

When Inspiration Strikes......

.....grab it and use it ๐Ÿ˜‰ That is what I did, one day, browsing through graphics on Creative Fabrica. I fell for this one: Find it  here This was going to be my December Design Team project for Simply Crafty SVGs as I knew she had several files to use for it. I used the following files:  Christmas Tree Luminary ,  Little Wagon ,  Small Tumbler Box ,  Square Candy Box ,  Christmas Fireplace  and  Holiday Lamp Post . Some of them are downsized to fit the wagon - like the Tree which is downsized by 50%. I used AC Cardstock along with Majestic Pearl Paper and Graphic 45's Christmas Carol patterned paper and used some bling from my stash. Finally I put in a small fairy light string inside the tree and this is how it came out: I really love it. Cute as a button ๐Ÿ’— Here's another view: So now you guys get to tell me what you think of it - you can do so in a comment below. I really love the feedback ๐Ÿ˜Š Thanks for taking time out of your busy Christmas schedule to visit - I hope to se

Belladonna Lily, Naked Lady or Four Corners of the Earth.......

One flower, many names ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm talking about the beautiful Amaryllis flower. I just googled a little about this pretty plant and found these and several other names. The "Four Corners of the Earth" is from Denmark. As it usually has four flowers in a cross position. This Amaryllis is a common flower for Christmas here in Denmark - like the Poinsettia. So I decided to make myself one.  This beauty is from  Maison Gregoria  and is made from Red Pearl paper and Dark Green AC Cardstock. I painted the stamens with a Red and Yellow Acrylic paint and dipped the tips into some Yellow Flock Powder to give them a bit of pollen. It sure is a time consuming flower to make due to the painting and finessing of the petals but soooo worth it. This is why Danes called it the "Four Corners of the Earth": I think I'm going to have a hard time keeping this one ๐Ÿ˜‰ as it has already been admired by several and I do not have time to make more before Christmas. This year I'm put

Pink Poinsettia

Christmas is approaching so very fast and I'm having a bit of a rough time to keep up ๐Ÿ˜… but isn't it always like this? For everybody? Anyways - this year I decided that due to lack of space, I will try and control myself when it comes to making too much Christmas decor ๐Ÿ˜ And what luck that I found some projects that take quite a bit of time to make. I won't be out of stuff to make ๐Ÿ˜‰ The first project is this darling  Pink Poinsettia  from Maison Gregoria: This might look intimidating and difficult to make, but it's not. It's only time consuming due to making the stamens but also if you choose to paint your leaves and petals which I didn't. I used air drying clay for my stamens and once they were dry, I painted them with a green acrylic paint. When that was dry, I painted them with Glossy Accents from Ranger. I made the petals with copy paper in pink (160 gsm), inked the edges with Distress Ink and drew the veins with a pink color pencil. Same procedure for t

Picture Perfect Christmas Tree

As lots of people, I really love this time of year and with Halloween over, I'm all in on Christmas. For me, Christmas is kinda like the light in the dark. That is also why I love making all kinds of luminaries, candleholders and tealight holders. I can't get enough of the warm light from a candle. I just don't trust myself around living candles. I'm so affraid to forget to put it out, so I use LED candles and fairy lights for my luminaries. The only living candle I have, is a countdown to Christmas that we burn a little bit each day until Christmas Eve. I live in Denmark.....up North in Scandinavia and it gets really dark, really early this time of year, so what better to make than a Luminary. When I saw Simply Crafty SVGs darling Christmas Tree Luminary , I instantly knew what I wanted to make with it. It just turned out to be somewhat lesser simple than I anticipated ๐Ÿ˜† This is the Tree made in 50% of the original and it was very easy to assemble BUT...... It's

Fall Flower Arrangement

I seem to have gotten a taste for making life like flowers ๐Ÿ˜Š and in the Maison Gregoria FB Group, I found a month challenge and entered this: All of these flowers are from Maison Gregoria's Etsy shop and in the following I will tell a little about each of them  First of the  Dahlia Bicolor Sadly the light in my home isn't the greatest this time of year so it's kinda hard to see that the center of the flower is a tad darker than the rest of the flower. I made this from AC Cardstock it two shades of light pink and added a bit of Distress Ink to the petals.  Here's another color: Next is the  Straw Flower This flower is also made from AC Cardstock but the center is made from Majestic Pearl Paper (as it's a lot easier to cut these intricate fringes) The flower isn't very big but a wonderful filler flower. Then there's the  Double Gerbera Again this is a flower with an intricate center so I cut the inner part in Majestic Pearl Paper in Dark Brown and the outer p
